About Company Biography

jamie_heaslip_leinster_does_movember-1Jamie was born in the Tiberias, Israel, not a traditional breeding ground for Irish number 8s. Jamie’s rugby career started in earnest whilst attending Newbridge College, where his potential was watched carefully by the Irish age grade system, resulting in a trip to Scotland with the Irish under 21 World Cup Squad.

A debut with Leinster followed not long after. At Leinster, Jamie has quietly gone about his business and has become known in the rugby community as a consummate professional. A year after his debut for Leinster, a first senior cap with Ireland came, where he will forever be known as the 1000th player to wear the green of Ireland. Jamie counts himself fortunate to have experienced great success along the way with all his teams; 3 Heineken Cups with Leinster, Grand Slam success with Ireland & a tour with the British & Irish Lions in 2009. His professional approach to the game saw him succeed arguably the greatest Irish player Brian O’Driscoll as the captain of Ireland from November 2012. An honour that humbled Jamie.
As professional off the pitch as on it, Jamie is involved in some ventures, the pride and joy being Bear restaurant in Dublin, as well as being actively involved in several charities both at home and abroad. He is a dedicated patron of GOAL, The Umbrella Foundation and the ISPCC as well as making the annual sacrifice of partaking in Movember; the male prostrate cancer awareness campaign.
